How long should I burn my candle?
For the first burn, allow the wax to melt fully to the edges of the jar (about 2–3 hours). After that, burn in calm, steady sessions of 2–4 hours for the best performance.
Do I need to trim the wick?
Yes. Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each burn. A shorter wick keeps the flame steady, reduces soot, and helps your candle last longer.
Why is my flame flickering or mushrooming?
A flickering flame usually means the candle is near a draft. A mushroom‑shaped wick tip is simply carbon buildup — trim it before relighting for a clean, even burn.
How far down can I burn my candle?
Stop burning when about ½ inch of wax remains. This protects the vessel from overheating.
How should I store my candle?
Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. If your candle has a lid, keep it on to protect the fragrance and prevent dust.

While these materials are considered safe, pets can be sensitive to materials or strong scents. Burn your candle in a ventilated space and never leave a lit candle unattended around animals.
What if my candle didn’t come with a lid?
Certain Sound & Season candles are intentionally designed without lids. If your candle doesn’t include one, just keep it in a cool, dry place when not in use to preserve the fragrance.
-
Why does the scent smell different when burning?
Cold throw and hot throw release fragrance differently. Heat brings out deeper, warmer notes that may smell slightly different from the unlit candle.
Why does the scent seem lighter in a large room?
Room size, airflow, and ceiling height all influence scent strength. For open spaces, burning two candles at opposite ends of the room can help create an even fragrance.
Can I burn multiple candles at once?
